UAW said September 22 the union would expand its labor action against GM and Stellantis, but spared Ford from additional walkouts after clinching more concessions from the company.
$27 million will finance 15 offshore and land-based wind energy projects while another $45 million will fund 14 additional projects focused on domestically manufacturing these types of technologies.
Sources said that the strikes will likely expand to 38 additional GM and Stellantis facilities across 20 states, but expanded strike actions are not expected against Ford.
The funding will go towards improving the movement of goods along navigable U.S. waterways and expanding existing services in Alaska, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin.
